
Q1: How do I log on to AP Exchange?
Navigate to the URL: http://www.apexchange.com. Enter your user name and password.
Q2: What settings must be defined upon logging on to the AP Exchange for the first time?
User account settings must be updated to allow for password
resets and notifications of content via e-mail. In order to do this, click
Account Settings
the Account Settings link at left
to edit your profile information. Enter your first name, last name and
e-mail address; then click Save Changes.
For e-mail notifications, create a saved search. Ensure that you select the Notify Me option. Enter the e-mail address(es) that should receive the notifications; then click Save Search.
Q3: What if I've forgotten my password?
From the AP Exchange Login page, click Have it emailed to you (below the Login button).Your password will be e-mailed to you.
Q4: How do I perform a search?
There are a variety of search methods within AP Exchange. See Performing Searches.
Q5: How do I create a saved search?
A saved search can be created from various screens within AP Exchange; however the simplest method is:
From the Navigation bar, click Manage
Saved Searches to open the My Saved Searches page.
Click Create New.
Specify the search keywords/criteria. See Creating a Saved Search.
Enter the name of the search.
Click Save Search.
Access the saved searches from the home page's left column in the Saved Searches portlet.
Q6: (If enabled) How do I select the Regular Features that I want to appear on my home page?
Click Regular Features. A list of feature options appears. Select the Regular Features that you want to display; then click Save Changes. When you return to the home page, the Regular Features appear in the left column in the Essential AP portlet.

Q7: How do I set up e-mail notifications when new content that I am interested in arrives?
Create a saved search. Select the Notify Me option, enter the e-mail address(es); then click Save Search.
Q8: How do I download content?
From the home page, click the Download
icon
next to the news item in the Center column.
From a Content window, select the file format from the Download menu at top; then click Save.
Select the Email button at the top of a Content window.
Q10: (If enabled) How do I edit a story?
(For text stories only) Select the Edit button at the top of a Content window. Make your changes, then click Save. Specify where to save the story on your local machine.

Q12: Can I receive alerts on Instant Messenger?
Not at this time.
Q13: Can I receive alerts on my Blackberry or other portable device?
Yes. Create a saved search. Ensure that you select the Notify Me option. Enter the e-mail address(es) of the portable device(s) that should receive the notifications; then click Save Search.
Q14: What will happen if I select the Notify Me option on a saved search?
An e-mail will be automatically be sent to the e-mail address you entered on the Advanced Search/Edit Search/Save Search page each time a story moves that matches your search.
Q15: Can I change the screen refresh time?
Yes. Navigate to Account
Settings
Customize Home Page. Select your refresh preference from
the Refresh Content Every menu.
In addition, you can click
at any time to manually refresh the content.
Yes. Click Save This Search next to the search's title.
