Browse Topics to Narrow Search Results

After running a search, click the Browse Topics tab to display a hierarchical listing of AP news topics that are specific to your current search results. Click or to expand or collapse the topic hierarchy, respectively. When you click a topic within this tab, AP Exchange will search within your current results to find content related to the selected topic. Enable Narrow Results to update (restrict) the topic list to reflect the new search results that appear as you select other topics. Otherwise, the topic list will not update as you select other topics.

You must run a search BEFORE clicking the Browse Topics tab. Otherwise, you will not see any topics on the tab.

Notice that the search’s name displays a “search breadcrumb” trail – the original search name plus the topic’s name.

Click another topic (within or outside of the topic hierarchy) to further narrow your results by this new topic.

Click any link in the trail to return to that previous search.
