The Contribution Lineup page allows you to manage the editing and linking of your content. The page is divided into three main sections:
Not
Yet Published Documents Tab
Contains content that you created and saved, but not yet submitted
to the Marketplace; this content is not accessible to other Marketplace
users.
Published
Documents Tab
Contains:
Content that you submitted to the Marketplace via the Contribute Story page or the Not Yet Published Documents tab. This content is accessible to other Marketplace users.
(For AP Content Enrichment participants only) Content that you submitted to the Digital Cooperative for content enrichment. If desired, you can publish (or refile) this content and make it accessible to other Marketplace users.
Preview Section
(If selected) Displays a preview of your news item.
To display the page, click Manage in the Navigation bar; then click Lineup under the Marketplace heading at left.

The icon beside each headline indicates the item's media type.

Saved items (in the Not Yet Published
Documents tab) that were scheduled
for publishing have the Scheduled icon
beside their creation dates. You can still
edit these items, as you would other saved
items, as well as change their publish dates.

News items in the Published Documents tab may be denoted with one or more icons in the Type column.

To publish or remove saved news items:
Select the
corresponding check box(es) for the item(s) that you want to publish or
delete.
Result: The Commit button
appears.

Click Commit.
Result: A warning message appears.

Click OK or Cancel
to abort the operation.
Result: (If you selected OK)
Published items are moved under Published
Documents and is accessible in the Marketplace. Removed items are
permanently deleted from AP Exchange.

An unavailable (grayed out) Publish option box indicates that you saved this item without specifying all necessary details for publishing. To make this option available, click the item's media icon to edit this story. Ensure that you specify values for all boxes highlighted in pink. |
Click the item's content icon. AP Exchange automatically directs you to the Contribute Story page.
To find news items:
Specify one or more words from the item's headline in the Keywords box; then click Search. For partial words, use the wildcard character (*) (Example: Professional *ball). The keywords found in headline are indicated in red.

To search for saved items, use the Keywords box under Not Yet Published Documents; to search for published items, use the Keywords box under Published Documents.

(For published items only) If you are having trouble recalling words from an item's headline, use the home page's Search box to find your item on the main page. This is very useful if you have multiple pages of published items. |
To preview a news item's full story:
Click the item's headline. The preview appears at right. Click Hide to remove the preview.
To page through news items (for sections with many items):
Click one of the page navigation
buttons
or select a page number from the Page
menu.
The navigation buttons and Page menu do not appear if the number of results can fit on one page.
To change the number of news items on a page:
Select your desired page length (5, 10, 20, 50 or 100) from the Page size menu.
To refresh the news item display:
Click
.
To sort the news items in the table:
Click a heading.

Click the heading once to sort the table by that heading in alphabetical or date ascending order (A to Z, oldest to newest). |

Click the heading again to sort the table by that heading in reverse alphabetical or date descending order (Z to A, newest to oldest). |
To link published news items:
Select the
Link options for the desired items.
You may select two or more items in the same action.
Result: The Link button
appears.

Click Link.
Result: A warning message appears.

Click OK
to link the items or Cancel to
abort the operation.
Result: (If you selected OK)
The items are linked and appear as suggested
items within a linked item's Content
window.
To see the linked content in the Contribution Lineup page, click an item's Linked Media link.

If the Link button does not appear for the selected items, either the new item is not yet published to the Marketplace or you are not permitted to link them. Certain cases exist where item linking is forbidden; for instance, you cannot link an original story to its own correction or update. |
To refile (publish) news items:
Refiling publishes news items that were submitted for content enrichment (that may have been retrieved from a customer's Web site or news feeds) to the Marketplace, making them accessible from the Marketplace portlet.
For a single item:
Click Publish to Marketplace.

Result: The Publish to Marketplace window appears.

Select who should have access to this item (Publish nationally, Publish to your state or Publish to your group).
(Optional) Select the organizations within your state that should not access your story.
Click Publish. It may take up to several minutes to publish your story.
For multiple items:
Select
the Refile options for the desired
items.
Result: The Refile button
appears.

If the Refile option is not available, the news item is already published to the Marketplace. |
To update a published news item:
Click Update. The Contribute Story page opens. Make necessary modifications to the item, summarizing these updates in the Notes box. Then, click Update at bottom.

A new item appears under Published Documents, with its headline prefixed with, "UPDATE."
Use this option to add information to the original story, such as a quote or breaking news details.
To correct a published news item:
Click Correct. The Contribute Story page opens. Make necessary modifications to the item, summarizing these corrections in the Notes box. Then, click Correct at bottom.

An additional news item appears in the Published Documents section, with its headline prefixed with, "CORRECTION."
Use this option to correct information that was stated in the original story, such as correcting a person's name or a date mentioned in the story.
To kill a news item:
Click Kill. The story's headline is prefixed with "KILL." You cannot update, correct or kill a killed story.

Use this option if you want to remove your news item from the Marketplace. The news item can still be retrieved from the home page with missing story text and/or a missing image.

To remove a news item from the Marketplace, you must kill its original story. You cannot remove the news item by only killing its update or correction; in these instances, the Kill link is inactive.

To display a news item's linked items:
Click Linked Media.

Click the linked item's headline to display its preview.
To display statistics for a published item:
Click Stats.
