
To view the complete news item, click the item's slug or thumbnail image (if the slug is disabled on the Account Settings page) to display the entire content in a separate window known as the Content window.
The textual information may differ depending on the media type. For instance, video items include a Script and Shotlist section, which is not relevant for other media. Because many audio stories have the same slug, they are further identified by an audio cut number displayed in the Summary section.
Most media items display or play automatically when the Content window opens.

The Content pane contains two or more sections of information that cannot be displayed in a single window view. To display the rest of the content information, use either the scroll bar to the right or click the content section heading to jump right to the section.
Use the more>> and <<previous links (or the Page box) to navigate through the displayed media results in the Suggested/Related Media pane. For instance, if you display a story with four suggested stories and two related photos, use either the more>> and <<previous links or the Page box to scroll through all of the suggested and related items for this story.
At the top of the Content pane are links for the following distribution methods:
History. Click this link to display a popup window containing the download history of this item. You can see which colleagues within your own organization have also downloaded this same item.

icon from a media tab.
Print. Click this link to send the content to a printer.
Email. Click this link to display an e-mail section at the top of the Content pane. In this section, enter the e-mail address of the intended recipient(s). Separate multiple e-mail addresses with a comma. Enter an optional message to include in the e-mail and click Send Email.

The e-mail recipient will receive an e-mail with the subject line, "News from Associated Press." The e-mail sender is identified by either the contact's Email Address setting on the Account Settings page or (if this setting is blank) by "noreply.apexchange@ap.org."
By default, the format of the e-mail is TXT. However, you can send an HTML-formatted e-mail by selecting HTML from the Download menu before clicking Send Email.
Edit (if enabled). Click this link to display the current Text story in Edit Mode. In this mode, you can modify the story's text prior to saving it to your local machine. You can only edit Text stories.

Edit Mode supports the Cut, Copy and Paste keyboard shortcuts, as well as HTML and other special tags entered at the keyboard. Click Cancel to reset the story to its original version.

When you navigate away from a story in Edit Mode (such as clicking a Suggested or Related story link), a warning message appears to inform you to confirm your cancel action.
Save. Click this link to display a File Download window that allows you to either:
Open a print-ready version (for text, photos or graphics) or full version (for videos) of the content
Download the content to either your local hard drive or a server in your network.
Content is opened or saved in the format you selected from the Download Preferences page.

The Suggested/Related Media pane displays
media items that share a relationship to the displayed item. Suggested
content is linked by an AP editorial staff member. It is denoted by a
red dot The media items are further divided into separate sections based on media type. The number of suggested and/or related items for the active media type (with the red highlighting) is indicated next to the media type. Click View beside a media type to display its suggested and/or related media item titles and/or thumbnails in this pane. Click the associated item link or thumbnail to display the entire news item in the Content pane.

Your organization is entitled to view content for the AP products and services to which you are subscribed. However, based on your contract agreement, there may be certain types of news that is typically associated with an AP service that you may not be entitled to see. These non-entitled news items are considered OUTed content. To determine whether OUTed content exists:
Search for a story with linked media.

Open the story's Content window.
Compare the total number of suggested items with the number of content links in the File Name (Transref) row of the Summary details. You will need to click View for each media type to obtain the total number of suggested items.

If there are more Transref links than suggested items, you have found OUTed content.
Click the links to see which items are OUTed. Clicking a link to an OUTed item opens a separate Content window with a message similar to the following:
